GIRL PROBLEMS
SOLO EXHIBITION | FURTHERMORE
GALLERY - BISON BUILDING
APRIL 2015
Investigating the amount of time, energy and money women spend on highlighting, amplifying, volumizing and refining, Girl Problems addresses our constant feelings of inadequacies and notions of beauty. Pulling from personal experience, and as a guilty participant, the ceramic beauty products and compact inspired paintings are loose and unrefined, challenging the polished design of the products they are critiquing. Additionally, the collages utilize language pulled from women's advertisements to address the not so subtle promotion that we are constantly objected to.
